The "Terry Brown" Hall of Fame

The Crokinole UK “Terry Brown” Hall of Fame honours the individuals who have made an extraordinary contribution to the growth, spirit, and community of crokinole across the United Kingdom.

Named in recognition of Terry Brown, founder of the Crokinole UK Tour, Crokinole Scotland, and a tireless ambassador for the game, this Hall of Fame celebrates those who have gone above and beyond to develop, promote, and support crokinole in all its forms.

From organising tournaments and building clubs, to teaching new players, crafting boards, or championing the game behind the scenes, inductees represent the very best of what makes the UK crokinole community special.

Inductee #01

Terry Brown

Crokinole in the United Kingdom did not grow by chance. It did not emerge through luck or coincidence. It was built carefully, passionately, and relentlessly, by someone who believed in what the game could become.

That person was Terry.

More than a player, Terry Brown has been the driving force behind the modern crokinole movement in the UK. Through his vision and dedication, he helped transform a niche pastime into a thriving, connected community.

He has introduced countless players to crokinole, often providing their very first experience of the board. He organised events where none existed, creating opportunities for competition, connection, and growth. Through initiatives like the Crokinole UK Tour and Crokinole Scotland, he laid the foundations for a national scene that continues to flourish.

But Terry’s greatest contribution goes beyond structures and tournaments. He built a community.

A community where players feel welcomed, encouraged, and inspired. A community where competition is matched by camaraderie. A community that, for many, feels like a home.

Many of today’s players can trace their journey in crokinole back to Terry, whether through an introduction, an event, or simply his enthusiasm for sharing the game (or possibly his ramblings on the Hogan’s Alley Podcast).

His legacy is not measured in titles, but in people.

It lives in the friendships formed across boards, in the laughter shared at tournaments, and in every new player who discovers the joy of the game because of what he started.

In recognition of his foundational impact, Terry Brown was named the inaugural inductee into the Hall of Fame, and in a tribute befitting his contribution, the Hall itself proudly bears his name.
